Born in Tokyo in 1975; currently resides in Fukuoka Prefecture. She creates artworks based on the personal histories and stories hidden within a place, through fieldwork and artist residencies. In 2008, she completed her doctoral program in oil painting at the Tokyo University of the Arts. As a fellow of the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Overseas Training Program for Emerging Artists, she spent time in Italy and the United Kingdom, where she began researching ancient Roman ruins and museums.She continues to conduct research and create art both in Japan and abroad, while also engaging in collaborative projects with experts from various fields. Major exhibitions include “By the Ancients: Listening to the Whispers of Fragments” (Kagawa Prefectural Setonaikai Museum of History and Folklore, 2022).
