Takeuchi Kota

Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1982; currently resides in Fukushima Prefecture. He creates installations and other works that explore traces of local history, such as stone monuments and movie theaters. He has also presented a series of works on the history of balloon bombs that crossed the Pacific during World War II.Recent exhibitions include “Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale” (2024, Niigata), “Waiting for the Wind” at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (2023, Tokyo), and the solo exhibition “Beyond the Beach” at the Iwaki City Art Museum and Iwaki Arts and Culture Center Arios (2022, Fukushima). Recipient of the Tokyo Contemporary Art Award 2021–2023.
