Born in El Salvador in 1972.He creates installations, sculptures, objects, and drawings by combining contrasting elements such as popular culture and fine art, ancient cultures, and science fiction. Using found objects and recycled materials, he incorporates street creativity as a “Third World style” to explore Central American identity, history, and sociopolitical issues.In recent years, he has challenged official historical narratives by exploring themes such as “colonization through tourism” and the past, present, and future. He has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Havana Biennale, and the Centre Pompidou, among others.
