Sekigawa Kohei
Born 1990. Sekigawa Kohei’s practice incorporates a wide range of techniques, such as physical actions using his own body, installation, drawing, and design as a means to examine how meaning is generated in his work through “making” and “seeing.” Major exhibitions include “Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2024 — 30 Ways to Go to the Moon”(Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, 2024), “Incoming Breezes” (Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, 2023), “Azamino Contemporary vol.11 Sekigawa Kohei: Let’s Call It a Day” (Yokohama Civic Art Gallery Azamino, 2020).

BankART1929 is an organization that connects people, the city, and art. For 20 years, starting in 2004, it operated an alternative art space under Yokohama City’s “Creative City” initiative; beginning in 2025, it will leverage that expertise to provide flexible direction and coordination that bridges society and art.
